The AACP is pleased to announce that we are sponsoring another session of “Improving Outcomes!”   COURSE DATE & LOCATION February 28th & 29th, 2012 Texarkana Arkansas Police Department Training Room/ 1st Floor Bi-State Justice Center  100 N. State Line Avenue Texarkana, AR.   TWO DAY COURSE 8:30am to 5:00pm each day 13 hours of Continuing Education Credit Ten modules of training   Training offered to all Law Enforcement personnel. Classes are free and will be limited to 35 participants.    COURSE DESCRIPTION This course is designed to help law enforcement officers develop a deeper understanding of the people who suffer from mental illness and its impact on families and society.  The course will give officers the skills and knowledge to identify and provide the most safe, effective and compassionate response to police situations involving persons with mental illness or in mental crisis.   TARGET AUDIENCE Target audience is small and medium market law enforcement professionals in Arkansas who have not been trained in CIT,  or equivalent, and would like to enhance their skills in handling individuals exhibiting atypical behaviors.   Thank you to the Texarkana Police Department, Chief Harrison and Sergeant Rankin for hosting this valuable training at your department!   To register, please complete a registration form and fax it to the AACP office at 501-372-4505.   Should you have questions or concerns, you may contact the AACP office by phone at 501-372-4600.
